ok...i don't know if this is a dumb question, but how do you tune a car for SQ? get proper imaging?  i was on the way to work this morning and ready to listen to my new RE components that i installed with some fiberglass pods i made a couple days ago, and really noticed that while on some songs the imaging is great, others i hear the snare drum behind me, or vocals are too far from where they should be.

is it possible to tune a system so flawlessly that no matter what cd, what type of music it is, who produced it, or whatever variable there is the imaging is always dead nuts on?

nope not possible, every CD is recorded differently, as such the SQ will be all over the place. But I have heard of some headunits that you put in a CD and set the imaging yourself and then it uses an inbuilt mic to pick up frequency response and then when you change CDs it will alter it eq to suit. but sorry I dont know the brands

i didn't think so. it also seems to matter how the snare drum is tuned, and how many instruments are in the band playing the music. i'll just give up then, because most of the time, mine sounds pretty good.
