I want to add a few LED's in areas like door handles and such ...

Here is my questions.

I don't want the lighting on all of the time.. I would like for it to come when I do an event.  and for it to fade out approx 5mins later (or something like that.)

Its a manual transmission so I don't have a nuteral safty switch for it to hook to... any suggestions or ideas?

thanks in advance for the help

You could wire them to go on and off with your dome light,  That would look nice

or just wire them to a toggle switch or button to control them at will

Just a couple thoughts
