if the manufacturer (jbl) says the opening is 11 1/8 inches, is that really the opening size.

i dont have the subs yet but have the time and the tools to use for the duration of saturday.

should i make the openings exactly 11 1/8 or from your experiences should i go a bit smaller(1/16)

thanks

make shure that is the size of the inside of the mounting flange, not the outside.  If that is the inside, then you'll want to go a little bigger, esp. if you're gonna carpet the box.
