Using this this Diagram:
Loss of sound Quality? -- posted image.
Will it cause a loss of sound quality?
I was going to make two different boxes for a brahma (hopefully one of the new ones if it comes out before summer and is under $450). One for daily driving (a small sealed box and sub wired at 4 ohms) and one for comp (decent sized ported box and sub wired at 1 ohm). But instead I can make one medium sized sealed box with this switch somewhere. THat way all i have to do is hit a switch to get into "comp mode" or is I jsut want to show off at a car meet or around friends.

This is a great idea for those who want both competition ready setups and sq for daily driving.  I'll bump this because I'm curious.  :-)

I'd say as long as the relays were good quality components that can handle the voltage and current from the amp it should be fine.  I'd sugegst measuring the closed contact resistance through them in both the normal and the activated positions and use relays with less than a tenth of an ohm.  Also, I highly recomend you rig it so that it could never be switched under load.

where can i find such high quality relays? parts express? I guess it would have to handle 1500 watts (that's how much the amp puts out at 1ohm RMS)
And do you know how that diagram works exactly?
I guess I have ground --> switch --> purple(or pink) wire in diagram
is it mono when the switch is on or off.
I'd be using one of those military on/off switches

Can a Mod move this to the Relay forum? I forgot about that one and this might get a little more attention there.

That diagram looks like a great idea, but i would not use it on my own amp , its kinda scary to see 12v+ anywhere near the outputs of the amp, if one of those relays ever go bad it could feedback 12 volts straight into the outputs of the amp.
good luck
