First off thanks for the help putting my HU into my Envoy it sounds great...

Now what I have is my friend saw that I had done this myself and he wants me to help him put an aftermarket amp and sub in his 05 Tahoe.....

We have bought a PAC Line out converter, the RCAs amp sub and box....

what I dont have is the location of the factory amplifier and the wire colors for the rear speakers on the amp harness...

I have bought wire taps and everything but I dont have the info requested....

Thank you

I was reading on another car audio forum ( www.btimp.com) that the amp is located behind the glovebox on models up to 04 and on the brand new ones it is under the center console.  This site has given me some pretty good tips, so I would assume that this is true as well!!!

Just unplug the harness from the amp and use a battery to "pop" the wires until you figure out which wires are which.  This is the easiest way to do it.

The statement about the amp being behind the glove box up to 04 is not always true. We just did an 03 yukon and it was under the center counsole. You can also catch the speaker wires for the rear doors at each of the door boots, if you don't want to go through the console removal. Hope this helps some
