Hi,

I know these are old units.  I removed the 2006B brain from vehicle after the remote start function would no longer work.  The LED would blink five times, indicating "hood open."  Hood pin was never installed and wire was not grounded, so a local Astro dealer sent the brain in for service.  Since the 2006B is such an old unit, Astro would not warranty.

I found and purchased a used Astro remote start on ebay.  It was advertised as a 2006B.  When I opened the package, it is 2006 (neither A or B).

Is the wiring for the 2006 and 2006B the same?  I was hoping just to use the existing wiring in my vehicle that was used with the 2006B that I removed.

Thanks

you should be able to just swap'em over. Relearn the tach and programable outputs (if any were used)

check the hood pin programing too!

Thanks.  The module plugged into the existing wiring.  I was able to lock and unlock the doors.  Didn't have time to program the start function.
