I have 2 10" dual voice coil subs and need them to be at 2ohms.  Can anyone please tell me how to wire them.  My amp is not capable of 1 ohm.

The subs are 2 Memphis PR10" and the amp is a Memphis 500D.  Thanks.

Memphis PR-10's come with 4-ohm voice coils.  If you have 2 of the DVC models, you cannot connect them for a net 2-ohm load on your amplifier.

If your amp is the MCD-500, you will have to run at 4-ohms net (wire both woofers in series for 8-ohms per woofer, then place these in parallel for 4-ohms on the amp.)  If you wire your woofers in parallel-parallel, this creates a 1-ohm load and you would need a different amplifier.  If you want 500 watts, try the Memphis 16-PRD-500.1 which is 1-ohm stable.

OK thank you.  I thought I bought Memphis SVC, but when I got them home they were DVC.  The shop I bought them from is like 3 hours away, the nearest Memphis dealer.  I might try them out at 4 ohms, and if I don't like the sound I will try to get SVC.  Anyone here sell Memphis, preferably 10" PR SVC.  Just PM me or email me @ davedyer79@yahoo.com
