I just installed an Omega Remote Starter on my 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger. Before I got the car, my friend installed an electronic ignition. 1 day after installing the remote starter, my resistor went out. I bypassed it long enough to get home (about 15 miles from school to the house). Today, I installed a resistor off of my Dodge Satellite and it worked for a while, but then after a few minutes it too went out. However, when I tried to bypass it this time, It wouldn't even fire. Is there a chance that I burned up the new electronic ignition? Also, could the remote starter cause the resistor to burn up like that because I had to tap into the ignition wire?

Could I suggest buying a newer model car without causing any offense to you?
