For a "Made in USA" sticker, all the unit must have is one component of many made in the USA.. As far as the serial# issue goes, the manufacturer in 99.99% of the time does not make the box the product is shipped in. A second sticker adds another process on the box manufacturing line + another process in the packaging line + another process in the sticker manufacturing plant = more $ for a little tiny sticker. Some companies do this, others do not. Personally I like to have my boxes with serial #'s on them, it all depends on how the build factories in Korea are set up. Take Memphis as it is our example here. It is built at a build factory that may build 10 other different brands of amplifiers on the same assembly lines, then they go to different packaging areas. Chances are that the other 10 brands don't have serial#'s on their boxes either.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

You have a valid point with serial issue.

I just thought it was odd, especially when I had to take my amp apart to find the serial

Counterfeits are more common than you may think in EVERY industry. Everything from car parts to shampoo. I suggest the book "The Art of the Steal". Its by Frank Abagnale (the man the movie "Catch Me if You Can" is about.) It goes into many subjects, but it has a nice section about counterfeit merchandise. It is acutally a very nice read and very informative.
