i purchased a Ford fiesta 1999, and the standard stereo was taken out leaving the original ford wires there, there is no standard ford connecters there just bare wires. I have figured the wires out and have connected the stereo up but there seem to be a small problem every time i turn on the side light switch nothing happens but when i touch a ORANGEY/BLACK wire to the constant live on the stereo the side lights and dashboard lights come on but the switch doesnt turn it on and of, is there a wire i seem 2 be missing because ive tried nearly every wire there unless ive been connecting wrong wires toghether.

With your parking lights on, test the wire you hooked up as "ground" for voltage.  If you've got voltage, this is an illumination or dimmer wire and is causing your problem.  Run a new wire to ground and see if your problem goes away.  Let us know.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
