I am also considering the 9855. I am trying to decide between the new Eclipse 8445 or the Alpine 9855. My local dealers dont have either in stock but I was able to try the new touch strip on the 9853. It was cool. But I want to see the display on the 9855. I'll let you know what I decide. I figure I can't go wrong with either unit.

Just got our first 9855 in stock yesterday! They're great from what we've seen so far. Take into account if you have a multiple amp system, this is the only non-DVD 2005 Alpine HU with 4 volt pre amp outputs.

Does the 9855 or 9853 have simple Bass / Treble controls or still the overly complicated EQ? That is the only thing I did not like about the 9835.
