I have a few simple questions pertaining to the Mannix Remote Starter system I just installed into my vehicle if you could please help me..

First is the remote start. I purchased a Universal Bypass Module for my vehicle, 1998 Olds Intrigue, to bypass the Passlock II system. It needed an IGN 3 wire, which my the model I purchased does not have, so I followed the instructions to produce one with (2) Bosche 30amp relays. The remote start will only start the vehicle if I have the key in the ignition turned to the acc or on position. If I remove the key, the vehicle will not start, though the dash lights will come on indicating that it is preparing to. The remote will give a success chirp to indicate that the vehicle is starting, but it never cranks. Is this a Passlock issue and I need to check my bypass module, or is this an incorrect wiring to the IGN wires on the vehicle to the control module?

Second is that when I attempt to remote start the vehicle and it does not start, I hit the disarm key on my remote, enter the car, start it, and drive; the alarm will rearm itself automatically with the car in gear and moving and begin going off. What is causing this? Is there a particular disarm wire that I need to check the wiring of? What wire on the vehile do I need to connect the disarm wire to?

I would really appreciate your assitance in these matters.

Thanks you for your assitance;

The first problem is you have the wrong bypass kit. a universal kit will not work for your car you need a gm specific unit like the dei 555L to bypass the passlock system. (i personally have never been able to use a universal kit but i am sure someone on here can tell you how if it can be done.)
On the other rearming question i would definately double check the wiring and if that wasnt the problem then try looking at the how the dip switches are set or if you can turn off the auto rearm through programing.

For the Passlock II issue, you have to wire directly into the Passlock II wires in order for it to be bypassed. The rearm issue, is probably a single wire on the Mannix system that needs to see an IGNITION wire to let the system know that the vehicle has been started. Look to make sure that you have all the necessary wires hooked up. Sometimes there is a wire on a secondary harness that needs to see ignition to disarm the system or to stop it from re-arming.

I have the bypass module wired directly into the Passlock II system. I cut the yellow wire and wired it through the bypass module and the black wire tapped into, with the white wire not touched. Does the first reply, the DEI 555L have anything to do it? Why would my universal bypass module not work. I read the value of my Passlock resistor, 3.29ohms, and matched it with my bypass module. Still no luck.

When you refer to the bypass module as a " universal bypass module " this type of module requires a key and a key cylinder ring to induce the code to release ignition lock from the vehicle. This reference threw us off. If you have a module that does tap into the Passlock wires, then make sure that your module is turned on with a ground when running wire from the RS unit.

I looked a little  closer at my installation manual, and I found a wire that I did not hook up, which the manual describes as a Negative Ignition 1 output ((-)500mA Output). It says that this wire provides a (-)500mA output when the IG1 wire is powered while running under the condition of the remote start and this wire can be used to provide the power for the 2nd Ignition wire of the vehicle or to pass the factory immobilizer, etc.

It goes on the mention my resister override method but gives a wiring diagram that confuses me because I wired a similiar relay that the universal bypass module required ( http://www.youreq.com/outdooreq/car-electronics/remote-starters/designtech/20402.asp - is the model I bought).

Do I need to wire another relay for this Negative Ignition 1 output from the RS?

Thanks for the help so far.
