Hi, I have a Sony Xplod 10" 300W RMS Sub in my car, with a crappy amp.

I was thinking of getting another 10" Sub and an Alpine MRD-M501 Amp to upgrade my system.

So tell me guys, which one is the best 10" sub out on the market?

It needs to be 4 ohm, otherwise wont match the amp.

Some people recommended Alpine Type X Subs! Are they any good?

I want people around my car to hear me loud, so I wont settle for anything but the best this time.

My budget is flexible, so please tell me which ones to go for!

Help me out guys! Thanks!

Adire Audio Brahma , Eclipse Titanium, Image Dynamics IDMAX .   And to power those babies you'll need about 1000 watts rms.   Oh, and that MRD-M501 is stable to 2 ohm you know..

I have heard the Alpine type x subs and they are good for the money.  When it comes to the best 10" sub it all goes by the person buying the sub and the type of sound they are trying to achieve whit that sub.  For your db subs look at audio baun and kicker.  For sq look at all the subs that the Alpine guy said and also JL and MB quarts.  Good luck and let us know how your system ended up like.

I just got rid of a type x sub and they suck total ass. Alpine guy hit the nail on the head with his suggestions and I would even say go in that order.

Eclipse aluminum in a sealed box of 1.25 cu.ft. or a MB Quart RWE254 in a 1.25 cu.ft slot port box. The Titanium is nice but it is a power hog, the aluminum is going to be a much better match to your amp. The box is way more important than the sub itself, change one and you must change the other.

Just yesterday I got my system installed in my 2000 F150 Supercab. I am using one 10" Polk Momo (MM2104) sub and pushing it with about 225 watts. I am very pleased with it! A friend of mine has two JL subs (10W4's I think) in his F250 Supercrew and mine has just as much thump as his. He was impressed as am I. Rattles the mirror no problem!
I recommend the Polk MM2104 or MM104 (sealed only with the MM104). The MM104 has 600 RMS compared to the 300 RMS of the MM2104.
