OK I am doing an install for a person that can only afford to buy 1 piece of equipment at a time. The car is a 2000 Neon LE so it has the 6 speaker stereo system. 6x9 rear,6.5 door and 3.5" in the dash.
The next piece they are going to buy is the 6.5 for the door and going with some infinty references. What I want to know is how could I control the volume on the 3.5" in the dash since they will obviously break up (and are VERY bright sounding stock) So I want to back the volume of them off a little bit.
I know an amp would fix the problem since I could control the gain seperatly for the dor speakers.
Is there anyway to run something inline to control the volume of the 3.5" speakers.

Anytime you want to attenuate individual speakers in a system you can install an L-pad, or "attenuation circuit".  http://www.mhsoft.nl/spk_calc.asp#att

When it's time to move on to the next phase of the install, those resistors can be taken back out of the circuit and back into your toolbox.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Thanks steve, the only thing though the amount of attenuation is the amoun of decibels it wil lower the volume? Kinda stupid question since resistors inline have to resist power :) but justw ant to make sure.
Thansk for the link thoguh
