I have 2 headrest monitors, a indash dvd and a regular head unit, is there any universal remotes that can be programed to control all of these rather than 3 different ones?

Use a learning home theater remote that you can "teach" the IR codes to. The trick is to be sure it is a 'learning' remote, not a 'preprogrammed' one. Farenheit used to make one for car audio, but I'm not sure if it still around...
Experience gained is directly proportional to the amount of equipment destroyed - break it & learn!
