I have a Directed Audio 5ch amp. The sub output is 350w RMS. I am planning to get a single 12" sub. I plan on getting a PORTED enclosure built to specs. I want a little bit of both, SPL and SQ. Which would you guys go with?
So far I'm deciding on these:
JL 12w3v2
MTX 12 7500
Adire Shiva
Image Dynamics IDQ 12

i have not heard the Shiva or the others BUt i know the shiva is a very very good sub from all the reviews. In any case i OWN a JL 12 W3V2 D2 and let me tell you this sh*t SLAMS hard and do i mean HARD. and sounds good too. Im givign it 550WRMS @ 4ohms and its luving it. go for a ported box if u decide to go with this box tuned to abotu 30-33hZ jl reccomeds 30.8 i belive but mine is at 34hZ.

I would go with the Adire or the JL. Which one of those two would be more or less based on which one I found cheaper because they are both outstanding speakers.

It really depends on how much space you have. If you need a smaller box the IDQ is the best sub up there, in my opinion. If not, I'd go with the Shiva.

my trunk is pretty small, that's why I opted for the single 12. I just need to get rid of my (2) 10" IDQ's first.

I would go with the Shiva, ordering one might be a problem however. Adire is in the middle of revamping their whole line, so you might have a wait awhile to get the Shiva. The W3 is a good sub, as long as you can find it for a decent price, prices on JL stuff is ridiculously high. Take a look at the Ascendant Audio Atlas, its similar to the Shiva, if not a little better.
You can check the Atlas out here.
