Hey i got this bazooka EL1500 amp rigged up temporarily right, cuz i got no brahmas and no need to use my ZRS-9... and suddenly when i turn on the head unit (Nakamichi of course) the subs make a popping noise. At first i'm like wtf man, and i go back and look and see if theres any connection error. Nope, so i grab my remote, open the tailgate, and watch the amp turn on as i turn the head unit on from the back of the car. The protect (RED) light is on and the amp won't even turn on... Any suggestions?

Could be a blown sub, check the ohm of the subs with a meter

1) Disconnect the subs and see if the amp comes on without the protection light.  If it does, the problem is in your sub or wiring.  If not

2) Disconnect the RCA cables AND the subs and see if the amp powers on.  If yes, then the problem is in your RCA cables or your head unit.  If no, the amp is toast.

The Amp was toast, fried, extra crispy. My EL1500 now works at KFC.

No idea. Just turned on the car and it didn't work. Prolly fried a circuit in it somewhere.
