I have a friend whose newer model honda accord, the alarm doesn't work anymore..  the horn works (when you depress the horn switch at the steering wheel), the door locks lock when you press the button but  no alarm?  the led doesn't flash..   which means the alarm isn't activated..   is the alarm brain dead?

more than likely it has an open trigger hood trunk or door, i would say hood cause it is out in the elements might have corrosion.

no hood "pin" on the OE alarm.  I think its a few wires and an actual switch under the armored assembly.  Easy to get to with the hood open though.
