i'd like to wire up an isolater in a car to run to the battery in a trailer.i believe the car battery hooks up to one end and the wiring for the trailer battery to the other end of the isolater.i believe the alt(battery)wire goes to the center.my question is(if i'm right so far)does the battery wire to the alt still stay hooked up at the alt. thanks for the help.

i really enjoy this site!

Remove the wire going from the alternator to the engine bay battery and run a new wire from the alternator to the middle post on the isolator. The isolator will flip between the two batteries for charging.
