I'm in the process of looking for a cap for my car, and i think i've found out that stinger offers the best cap, but they are also the highest priced. I want to know what would be another good cap that might be a little cheaper. I want somthing that is over 1 F, right now i have a 2005 kennwood 1200.1 amp on order, and  i think i need something bigger than a 1F to help push it. Right now i have one amp running my 6x9 and my lights still dim. So if you have an ideas or anything i would greatly apprerciate it. I'm open to anything. Thanks

Upgrade the "big 3" wiring first. You might need to get a HO alternator. Scrap the idea for a cap. They are useless.

Do a search for capacitors and you will find literally hundereds of posts explaining why they are usless and a waste of money, and why you should get a HO alternator instead.

I agree i bought a 5 faraf cap from Power Acoustic and it really has done nothing for me. I am now buying a HO alternator. Dont waste the money on the cap ; invest in the alternator first.

I have a one farad cap and  It didnt really help light dimming but it provided a cleaner sound to my subs so I dont think it is completely useless but as far as supplying power enough to not let amp put a momentary load on  vehicles electrical system no it would not help.

Yes a cap can be used to filter the power flow to the amp. Thats the only good use for a cap. It won't however have that effect if you don't already have an alternator capable of suppling the power you need. A cap will not add power to your system no matter how much you pay for it.

If your amplifier sounds that much better when you filter the power to it, either your amplifier or electrical system has issues.  :-)

I also think caps are useless.  I'm not a big fan of "band-aid" solutions.
