I am currently running 4 12" Perfects of a JBL 1200.1, but I can tell I need some more juice to them (they are running at 1 ohm).  I am looking for somethign in the 2000 watt @1 ohm range, but want to use the 4 awg ground and power than I already have the amp hooked up to.  I also do not want to go lower in quality than the 1200.1, but at the same time, do not want to break the bank.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Evan

Get another 1200.1. Run a new set of wires, and there you go.

I don't think you will find an amplifier on the market that will be efficient enough to have an output of 2000 watts, and not draw more current than your existing 4 ga. can supply.

Those perfects have a power rating of 350 watts, and with that amp your sending about 300 to each of them... i know those speakers can take a little more than 350, but i dont think there will be much of a difference in output by getting a bigger amp without sacraficing the reliability of the subs

I'm with mikew here. If those 4 speakers at 1200 isn't enough for you I HIGHLY doubt another 800w will do it.
Another 800w WILL NOT EVEN GAIN YOU 3db of MAX SPL. This is tiny. In fact, because of the MikeW's point, I doubt you'd even gain more than 1db. It will likely be inaudible.
It would be stupid, in my opinion, to upgrade amplifiers for ~1db gain.
If you want more SPL, I'm sorry to say, you're going to have to go to another level entirely. Another level as in completly different setup. You need more efficiency, more power handling capability, and more electrical system power output capability. We can help you with this, but I think you've maxed out your current design.

And to make more power, you need to give that amp more power, meaning one monsterous outlay of cash for 0 gauge power  / ground and fusing. If you want more output, look at the box design again, what kind of box do you have for these subs? Why not look at different subs and box over a different amp and power / ground wire?
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

They are being run in a 4 cubic foot sealed enclosure. I am not saying that they are not loud enough, I was more or less exploring the possibilities of getting everything I can out of them. However, it appears that I currently am, and I will stick with this for now, or at least until I get some more cash.
Thanks guys, you answered my question perfectly.

All 4 subs in 1 air chamber? humm, ,i guarantee you will gain some spl if you were to devide that box up giving each sub its own air space.

I have it in 2 chambers (2 cu ft each), and braced even more between the subs. The subs are 2 per chamber, with more internal bracing besides the box itslef.
I have a CAD drawing of it if you'd like to see it...
