Bolt cutters, the ones with the long handles that will pinch off a padlock.  If you have an old pair like I do that has ruined jaws, all the better because it won't cut the wire, just crimp it.  I found it one time at a yard sale for like a dollar.  It was made in about 1908.  But even newer ones should have some adjustment allowance on the jaws so that you can set it so that it doesn't cut through.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I use a bench vise, then flip it over on the pavement and give it a good shot with a hammer and a nail punch, seems to work good.

yeah, a hammer works fine. Just wack the hell out of it, until it won't come off anymore. hammer it on concrete, that seems to work the best for me....

well im a ghetto kid too i dont have a crimper i use a VICE
GRIP it works really good or a becnh vise is good if you have one. either way my crimps are very tight and on top of that i always solder them a bit for a sure tight hold. I cant justify spending 100 bux on a crimper as i dont use one everyday.
