I installed a Crimestopper CS-5601 in my Ford F250.  It will work for a couple of days then it blows the fuse (20A).  I have the power wire for the module taped into the Power wire for the alarm.  Could this be the problem?

Thanks,

Corey

could be a few things: try going directly to the battery with a minimum of 16 gauge stranded wire. you may have a resistance build up from the small aug wire causing a heat build up over multiple uses stressing out the fuse. or it might just be as simple as a window motor starting to go. PS. motors draw more current when they are cold, have you noticed the fuse blowing on colder days. just guessing without knowing more. also an intermitent connection will contribute to this type of symptom.

Thanks mobileinstallat.  I think the power wire from the module is 12g (14g at least).  that should be good enough.  I think I'll run the power directly from the battery just to be safe.

I read through my manual and the OEM fuse that powers the windows is a 30A.  Seems like I would need at least a 30A for the module.
