05 Nissan Murano w/smart key

Hi, I had to put a radar detector into a new Nissan Murano today and discovered it had one of the new Smart Key systems(you don't have to physically put the key in the ign to start it) I checked out the ign switch and a key can still be inserted into it. When installing a remote starter is the procedure basically the same as a transponder bypass to start this vehicle or do we need to do surgery on the Smart Key to make it's presence known in the vehicle? If that is the case do the doors just unlock and stay that way? This Nissan comes with a DVD system that flips up from the center console. A back up camera and a nav system. Hmmmm... not much left for us installers to do. It's kind of nice to know what I'm going to run into before I jump into such a project. Dealers don't like waiting. Thanks Jon Traveling Electronics

Yes, the procedure is the same as any other vehicle for remote start even if it has the Smart Key. All ignition wires have to be powered up in order for the remote start to work.Jeff

i did one today is the same and you don't have to leave the remote u just need a key and use 556u dei it works fine, if you leave the remote the doors is going to be unlock all time, just use the key.how own your mind, control your life.

Thanks for the replys. I thought this would be the case. And actually I have run into having to hook up the accessory wire (typically for the radio) in vehicles with climate control. It seems that if this wire is not attatched the vehicle air will default to floor and not windshield. Well cool. I thought this might pose a problem. But it might just keep more of these out of the hands of my competition. Jon Traveling Electronics
