I'm thinking about putting some new speakers into my 88 suburban and I was wondering if I should get new speaker wire or just get factory wire harnesses? I know that the wire harnesses would save ALOT of time wiring, but from your guys' experience, does 17 years degrade speaker wire to a noticeable amount if any?

thanks in advance for any input

If all you are doing is replacing the speakers with aftermarket replacement-types and the power is still provided by the deck, just use the OEM speaker wires that are already in place.  If, however, you are replacing and upgrading the sound system in toto then run new wiring throughout.

ok thanks.

yeah all I'm planning on doing is replacing the speakers and head unit. That will save a good amount of time just using wire harnesses.
