Neutral Safety Wire

 Does anyone know how i can replicate a neutral safety wire, or does anyone know how i can make my car safe for remote start so that it wont start if it is in gear?

Yeah taht would be a good idea, except for the fact that all of the "manual safe" remote starters are basically a turbo timers, which wll just make sure that the car stays on when you get off the car. This way the car cant be left in gear. And they suck i am better off with the alpine that i have now that doesnt have remote start. By the way, the python 881 has a turbo timer. Im trying to go further and make sure that it wont start at all if it is left in gear, regardless of the situation turbo timer or not....Im sure someone has done this, and i am attempting to do it myself. The only reason i started this thread was to see if anyone has done it, i really dont want to hear "trade in this unit and get one that is manual safe" it defeats the purpose of this thread. Im trying to go above and beyond and it will work, guaranteed.

Well then............. I remember a thread sometime ago where a member made his own nuetral safety set up on an older Camaro or Firebird where he used a couple of springs and shaved off the paint on his gear shift so that if the springs would contact the metal shaft of the gear shift it would connect to ground and would not allow the car to start. He had it set up with two springs and some brackets. Someone may be able to help you find this post, but I can't remember for the life of me what was in the post or who posted it, otherwise I would do a search for it.
