I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer LS. I have HID's and i really need a perminant solution for disabling the auto light feature and/or the daytime running lights. Whenever it is dark and i unlock the doors it automatically turns on the lights and it is killing my HID's plus it annoyes me. The DRL's i can live with but i would like to turn on my lights if "I" want them on not when chevy wants them on.

I have takin the car to the dealer and they will not disable the lights for the DRL's because they say its a safty feature and the auto light they said they wouldnt do.

I know about the button beside the light switch that you hit it 4 times and it dsables the lights but soon as you turn the car off and start it again your have to do it again. I am looking for a perminate solution.

Thanks in advance

Add a relay so only power is supplied to the HID's only when the ignition is on.
Take your current power source for the HID's and move it to a relay.
Relay Pins...
85 - ground
86 - ignition
30 - to your old HID +12v source
87 - your new HID +12v source
87a - not used

One more thing, put the fuseholder on the pin30 side, not the pin87 side of the relay.

Thank you very much. One question for you. this will only supply power when the ignition is on correct. so only when the key is turned to the ignition position or car is running there will be power. i will need to add a relay to each HID correct? i have 4 HID's

yes this does turn them off but like most gm vehicles when you turn off the car and put the key in again it resets.
