hey first off i want to thank everyone once again for all the help during my project...
how do you guys mount your subs into your sub rings? do you guys just use screws...? that would make sense to me since you use screws in wood boxes (both cases screwing through wood... haha sounds funny) but then i saw some where someone using T-nuts? is that neccessary (sp?)
thanks again.

I use T-nuts on anything over 500 watts, especially in sealed box's.  The allen screws in conjunction with the t-nuts are also a good theft deterant.

No i don't know the size off the top of my head, probably along the lines of 3/16" for the screw.

The type of screws i use are the Allen head type....you use allen wrenches to tighten your sub in.

allen head type are great, if security is an issue i would recoomend some. I use regular screws for anything low powerd as well.

My current setup has Torx head screws. I find that they survive repeated removal/reinstall better than allen heads.

thats what i was thinking... i've used t-nuts in MDF before and when i tried removing the screw it ripped the t-nut out of the MDF... so then my enclosure would be comepletly useless...

i just use long self tapping screw for MDF, id usually put a rubber or foam gasket around the inside lip to stop any sound escaping though, is there anything wrong with that? mounting subs into sub woofer rings -- posted image.

Iv never had that problem before, are you shure they were hammered in enough and not half the nut in and half the nut hanging off the side of the sub cut out?
