2002 s2000 with compustar 2 way alarm + remote start
the car is a manual and the owner forgets to turn the headlights off because the car is still running when he takes the key out of the ignition due to the shut-down sequence.
the result is he leaves his headlights on and he has to get back in to turn them off.
how should i turn off the headlights for him? interrupt the headlight wire at the light stalk with the "ground when armed" trigger? if i do this, the headlights will turn on when the car is disarmed. i was thinking about using the ignition wire to power this relay but since he has HID lights, it would be bad for the car to start when the headlights are already on.
how would you guys do it?

Put in a headlight buzzer and tell the idiot that he should remember to turn the lights off like the rest of us.

using two relays you can wire it up so they switch off when the door is opened

Look in the relay section and you will find a circuit diagram that switches off your radio when the door is off, no reason why this shouldn't work for headlights.

Check all advice given with a meter
