DIY Hydraulics

Does anyone know of any good technical books on hydraulic/air bag system design? I've got half a mind to set up my monte carlo, but I'm not entirely sure where to start. I'm sure I could do it, just need a little guidance. Any help's appreciated. Thanks

Get some custom truck mags. They have alot of airbag how-to's. I don't know of any books but you could also check the websites of like trukin and minitruckin and other truck mags. If you don't have experiance with this sort of intrusive surgery, it isn't too hard to render a vehicle completly useless. I'm not saying don't do, just study up alot before you do. If you go with airbags, you might luck up and find some direct bolt on's. I think you have coil springs all the way around, if I'm right it may not include too much cutting.Nik

Yeah...it's coils all around. I know it can't be that hard because '79 Montes have been almost lo-lo'd to death; just never tried any of that stuff myself.

I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.

I have done a complete system on my car. I had to use air cylinders because of the lack of space. With your application you will be using airbags/struts. It is not at all hard to install as long as you don't get to complicated of a electronic wiring system. Which even the most advanced is not that bad. I will give you one tip that you will praise me for in the future. Do Not Buy From AIM Industries. Which is airbagit.com That is the most important advice you will need on this install. I'm sure you can find kits that are bolt-on(usally means that it is very small fab work). And most companys will try to help you through it on the phone. Just look around and try to find a good forum for air suspensions. If you have any questions just let me know. I'm new to the forum but I assume you can PM me.
