Sometimes, when I'm not driving around watching videos on my AVIC MP3's on an AVIC-N1 -- posted image. , I like to listen to MP3's.  I've had trouble getting my N1 to read all the files.  Either my unit has a personality and doesn't share my taste in music, or I'm screwing up while burning CD's.  I'll burn a CD with MP3's, put it in the N1 and it will play a song or two, skip a few, play one or two more, skip a few, etc...etc..  I've tried re-sampling songs it wouldnt play everywhere from 48k to 300k and still no luck.  I've changed song titles to shorten them, still no go.

Anyone else have MP3 issues?  Maybe I'm missing something simple... but my old MP-9400 (or something like that)  had no probs with any of my burns...  Any ideas?

Make sure you are using quality discs to start with. Second, lower the speed that the program burns the music to the disc. Also, what are the file types you are using, MP3, wma, etc...? Give those a try and post results.
Also, be careful not to take out that bus stop sign this time.

The AVIC-N1/N2 does not support WMA files. Is there a chance that some of your files are in that format?

also,, a lot of mp3 players do not read files as well as computers do, if you are downloading files off the net, almost all download programs now use multiple downloads at the same time for each file, if these downloads don't corispond EXACTLY they can have small errors in them, computers usually will skip threw this and you wont even notice, but a lot of cd players (in my experience panasonic is the worst at this) will get these little errors, and just skip to the next song, or freeze up, so that might be happening too, try burning them onto an audio cd (use an RW) and then ripping them with a program instead of just downloading them, (that's a lot of work tho) or just use files you get off of real cd's

I was having problems playing mp3's on my avic n1 for a short while too but solved the issues.  Like advised above, try slowing down the burn speed on the cd-r and double check the songs are not windows media audio format and are infact mp3s.  Thats what solved my issues.  Now if I could only make the avic n1 quicker in reading/searching mp3s....MP3's on an AVIC-N1 -- posted image.
