Im looking to build an enclosure similar to the below picture, but i was wondering what the best technique is to get the top of the mold or the cover done, as i need it to fitunder the seals, is it best to mold the area around the seal and glass it to the rest of the build? what would you do?

usually what ive seen done is you remove the seals, build your top w/ excess hangover. Then once dry come back and cut it off. Then put your seals back on and make sure she fits. There may be a better way though, wheres nik?

I know what ya mean, but how do you strech material if they are only held on under the seal, cus ya cant staple it!

After the actual box, etc is built. You can stretch your fleece over the box and staple it in place around the sub cutouts, amp rack, etc. Pull up most of the trunk seal, pull your fleece over the metal (where the trunk seal fits to), press fleece back into place, and glass.

I (personally) mask off the seal, to ensure I dont get resin all over it.

Cool man, how do i make the fleece stick to the metal under the seal? Just spray glue?

I did the same thing drvnbysound mentioned. I removed the weather strip and taped the metal edge to keep resin off of it. Then put your fleece over the edge and reinstall the weather strip. On the car I worked on the weather strip held it in place fine without needing glue or anything to hold. Just make sure to stretch it tight as you put the weatherstrip back on.

I've done 2 like that. The first I used hotglue around the edges with the weatherstrip removed and trimed it later. The second I did what those guys said and it was alot easier.

im gonna do something similar on a subaru impreza. ive only done one similar before and it was just a mess, so we did something else! thanks again for the help!

why fleece?? we use grill cloth, two layers.....

Grill cloth is a pain the in the a$$, fleece is a lot better IMO
