hey im almost at the point where i want to install my terminals but idk anything about them... are there different types? im running 2 JL audio 500/1 amps and 2 10W6V2 subs... is there a specific kind i need? also where can i get them?
also whats a terminal cup

Dont use terminal cups unless you need to, they are nice if you are planning on pulling the system in and out of the car, but they are not really needed. just drill a small hole just big enough to run the wire through (it should be hard to pull the wire through) then if you want put a little silicone in the hole. Terminal cups aren't worth the price unless you are going to be pulling it a lot. There are a few different types, there are screw downs, push buttons(similar to what are on subs VC's as well as a few others. Unless you want them, there is no need in them! Atleast that is my opinion.

I agree with Duke on this. Don't spend the money unless your racing and need to take the enclosure in and out.

but arent they like less then 10 bucks for both? i prally will want to take them out in the future so i do plan on getting the cups.. is there different types? or just 1 universal?

its safer to just drill holes because if you use terminals and one day you have to pull the box out then you have speaker wire just laying there. it only takes once to burn the amp. i say its safer because you will always unhook the wires from the amp. IMO

Terminal cups come in several different types, gold plated terminals conduct sound better.

dont get the cheapy flimsy looking ones though! have a look here....

whats the name for the ones for the subs? i reconize speaker wire ones but idk what the ones for subs look like..
