Building a small enclosure in the center console similar to the ones in escalades? As I've posted in the other thread I'm working on bringing bass to my ride without bringing subs and willing to pay the price. Wondering if I can fit a 8in or 6in sub in the center console escalade style.
And second question to you scientists(Plz don't look down on me for asking) Whats the big deal with computer subs? How are they able to make a 5 1/4 sub sooooooo loud? I just want to bring jaw dropping bass in my ride guys and blow peoples minds when I pop the trunk and nothings there.
Tell the Snap-On guy I'm not here!

What type of ride are we talking about? Have you checked out JL's stealth box's? Depending on your vehicle they make several different prefabed center counsel units.

yea it's possible, computer subs are loud because one, your in a small room with them usually, and two, because they have special tuned boxed and amps designed for them, showing why it's soo important not to just blow money on things that are shinny and to buy good stuff, if you want bass and not subs and money isn't a big deal, then it's easy, i'd get a good set of components in the front and good speakers in the back and then you can make a small 8 or something in the center, just make sure you have the box be the right size to get the best sound out of that, research all the info that you can on it, i think escalades use like a 5x7 sub or something like that (from what i remember) it's not much

It's for my 96 accord. I planned on 8's in the front doors but I have a bad feeling about it. Worried about it messing up my front staging and plus the doors aren't really sq sub enclosures.

yea 8's in the doors is kinda crazy, i dunno if i'd do that, you could easily fit a sub in there, or just get a powered sub for under your seat or something like that,, i've also seen people take out a lot of the passengers foot room and mount a sub & box under the glove box, it looks pretty cool, it'd be fiberglass work for sure

The answer is EQ.  They bump up frequencies around 50 or 60 Hz (depending on design) making the sub sound louder.  However they rarely have much real low end extention.
