2 Sound Deadners... Which one do i get?

1. Fatmat Extreme.  45mils thick, 2x's as Stickey as Polymeric Mastic----$1.14 sq. ft.

2. Polymeric Mastic.  70mils thick, 2x's as Thick as Fatmat Extreme---$1.07 sq. ft.

Which one do you all think I should go with?  I'm getting about 100 sq.ft. to install throughout my entire '97 Acura Integra.

Kinda depends upon the application location.  If it were me, I would get a little of both.

Use the stickeiest stuff on vertical locations and the less sticky on horizontal locations.  I would suggest buying about two to three cans of spray foam to pump into all the cracks and creveses between the body panels and frame work and to fill in big holes in areas.  It may sound a little messy but the end results will be spectacular.  (just make sure you pay attention to where you cars venting runs so you don't fill them.)

The Fatmat has an aluminum backing attached to the mat...

the Poly is just the mat.

I'm sticking with what I said before!

The only benefit to the aluminum backing is heat reflection.  It does very little for sound quieting your car.  But if your floor boards get hot to your feet while you go down the road, then by all means get it.

Hey Rapture...

I usually use, the Aluminum stuff on the Floor boards ( following along the exhaust path), the Transmission hump, and the firewall, as Chase said..it's basically used to reduce heat from the engine, by reflecting it...every where else, use the Poly...and, alos like chase said...fill teh cracks, and all the little nooks and crannies in with foam...the results are wonderful...

actually i was thinking about both... putting the coating down firsst then go over that with the mat.

i figure that will eleminate almost all sound... well as much as possible
