I know these are both great subs (from what I hear) but was wondering which would be a better selection to go in a 97 chevy x-cab.

I want something that hits Hard and has Great sound quality. I dont want the subs to cancel out my speakers.

I would personally recommend the w3s, in a cab of that size it wont take a lot to fill it with some nice powerful low end. The w3s sound way better in my opinion, much cleaner tighter sound to them, the w6s would probably just serve to overpower your speakers which you said you dont want. Both are great subs but the w3 would be my choice.

In my opinion, you should be able to get away with one 12w3 in that truck. My buddy is running a single w6 in his and he has the bass control on his head unit at like 1/4. It is powered by a JL500.1 and litteraly pounds the hell out of the cab if he turns it up too much.

What type of enclosure are you planning to put these in and what type of power are you planning to run them with?

you should try modeling it up on Winisd, it's free and will give an idea as to what to expect, besides the box is a very crucial part of having good sound!

I am planning on putting 2 12w3v2 in a custom sealed box. I will be powering them with a jl 500/1.
