I am buying a ford focus kona edition, and it comes with a factory alarm. I have a clifford alarm that I want to install in this car, but I have never installed an alarm in a car that already has one. What should I do? is there anything special I have to do? Any help please. detailed steps or articles, would be very helpful. Thank you.

what year is the focus? look up the wireing for it, there should be a factory disarm wire, and your alarm will have a disarm wire output usually, hook these two together and proceed as usual,,, hopefully (hey, you never know, not everything always goes as smooth as you'd hope) good luck

Thank you. The year of the car is 2000. I looked up the wiring on my alarm(clifford matrix 1) and I did not see any disarm wires. I want to completly remove the factory security and install the clifford in it. Is that possible? how would I get rid of the factory one? or should I leave it in there and just disable it? Please help.

Unless the "Kona" edition is a non-US model that was imported into the US, it does not have a factory installed alarm. It will more than likely be an alarm put in at the dealership by a mechanice or an installer. You'll probably see the brain hanging under the dash with wires going everywhere. I would just remove it and install your Clifford.

yea, if it's a factory alarm, it's not commin out, if it's aftermarket (and you'll know right away if it is) then take it out

lets say it has a fastory alarm, could I install any sensors? like glass brake? shock? remote start? any of this? and can I get the siren of an aftermarket alarm installed?. I guess my point is, I do not want the factory alarm. haha. I trust clifford better.
