well a friend of mine wanted his touchscreen to be put in the place of his double DIN HU, so i told him i would o it. instead of mounting it behind the dash bezel, i decided to mold the screen's plastic bezel into the dash bezel. after removing the stock unit, i dremeled the top of the empty space to make it slightly bigger, fit the screen bezel to the space, epoxied around it, and ground down the epoxy. after that i put some bondo body filler down to manufacture some curves, wet sanded, added spot filler, wet sanded, primed, wet sanded, primed again, wet sanded, then finally shot matte black to match the dash. after running all the wiring back to the trunk, the mini-itx computer was installed, powered, and connected, and the V12 amp was used to get the audio signal to the speakers.

Great job. What filler did you use? Looks kinda brown. I used something similar once, but it never really dried right.

Looks great. I'd love to put together a system like your buddy's and use PyCar. Great job with the molding!

it was a Xenarc monitor, and it wasnt quite short enough to keep the cover. i had to dremel the top edge of the area to make the screen fit. and also, the screen is tilted out a little bit to cut glare.and yes, it is glazing, or spot putty, i put it over the wetsanded bondo. thanks for the feedback.
