Steering wheel mounted monitors

I have seen it a thousand times but I cannot find any information on how to do it. How do you mount a monitor in a steering wheel? I know the basic concept of it but what I need to know is how do you run the wiring for it? I have done quite a few searches and have come up with nothing. I am looking to do my Town Car which has the perfect wheel for a monitor. Can someone point me in the right direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

dont get caught pulling an airbag out....its against all kinds of laws..

Stupid idea in my opinion. If you do attempt to do this using the pre-existing wires then you better make sure that everything concering the airbags are unplugged including sensors, computers, and any other airbags.Certified Security Specialist

disassemble the steering wheel and column cover and run the wires alongside the rest of the wires. PIMP MY RIDE got fined $16GRAND  for pulling out an airbag.

As a private owner I wouldn't be too scared of those laws. They are more geared towards shops and are enforced by the Buearu of Automotive Repairs. It's the no video while your driving laws that scare me. LOL how do you explain a monitor in your steering wheel? If you live back east... I say do it! cops are nicer If you live on the WEST SIDE... Don't do it! Cops get nervous when they see monitors.(Monitors are for drug dealers and gangsters here)Tell the Snap-On guy I'm not here!

I'm not concerned about the laws for this kind of stuff. I see it alot. And in all honesty, its probably a hell of a lot safer than being on the phone and driving. As far as the airbag thing goes, I hate airbags and I want it out anyways. I can get a few bucks for it on Ebay to offset the cost of the monitor LOL. I thought there was some sort of "gyroscope" assembly for the wiring where there might be plates of some sort that aren't actually connected but touch to connect the wiring. I was thinking maybe using the wiring for the cruise control but there has got to be a simpler way to do this. Running the wires alongside the others won't keep them from binding when the wheel is turned. That is my biggest concern.

my buddy did it he ran the wire up the colom and he remove =d the plate that lock the wheel and left some extra cable for when he turns  he removed the lock because the wire was geting stuck when turningmatt

Just get pulled over for a burned out tail light.....  Your screwed

If its your car, you can pull all the airbags you want. It's when a business does it that it becomes a legal matter. At least in Alabama. Probly different out west.Nik
