2005 Tahoe Remote Start

Hi all. I have installed a Commando 870 into my 2005 Tahoe. Everything is working except the remote start. I am using the Omega DB-Pass-23 module to bypass the Passlock 2 system. The problem is it will turn over but not start. The 2 way remote thinks it started though, as it shows the exhaust animation. I am also able to use the stop and go feature. I think my problem is the Brown (-) Out When Running wire from the DB-PASS-23 module. Im not sure where this goes. If not this wire, it might be a tachometer sensing thing, as Im using auto sense. Anyone have any ideas or thought? Steve

yea make sure you have all of your ignition and accessory circuits powered up correctly. if not the engine will turn over and run for 1 second then cutoff.

I believe you have to fire up a white wire as second ignition and a brown wire as second accessory... maybe thats the problem? maybe your passlock wires are backwards? thats happened to me before just when you think you've tested the voltage you hook 'em up backwards... not good... Try that also CHECK AND DOUBLE CHECK ALL CONNECTIONS!

post the wiring on the passlock module, and the wires you used at the ignition column.

Got it working!!! I went back and checked my wiring, and everything was correct. I tried a different ground output and that seemed to be the problem. I ended up using a 4 sec ground output wire and auto voltage sense mode. I did find another odd issue, for future reference. On this bypass module, a three wire data bus interfacing module, I found I needed to unpower the module before it would relearn the code. On this module you flip switch #3 up, turn the car on, and the light blinks to indicate it learned the code. It would not learn the code again without unplugging the module. This was my 3rd auto start install, and they get easier, but I still find them a great challenge. Its like a puzzle. And when they auto start for the first time, its such a pleasure to have it actually work! Thanks all for the ideas and help. This is a great website! Steve

Good catch! I was reading that somewhere that there are cases were the module is not being powered up in the correct time.
