Hello all, I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, 3.8 ltr NOT supercharged.  I would like to try and put LED tail lights in, but the last ones I put in made by APC just acted like brake lights, and not turn signals.  They also started blowing fuses in my engine compartment fuse box.  A friend told me I had to get 5 amps up in the fuse rating for LEDS, is this true?  Also is there a set that will work well for my Grand Prix and maybe NOT mess it up?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

That's where I got mine. They work great: lights, break lights, blinkers. You have to make sure that the resistor is in there, otherwise they won't work. Also, since LEDs take considerbly LESS current than an incandescent bulb, you have to make sure your blinker relay is a timed relay, not a thermal relay.
Hope that helps some.

Have you been happy with the light output of those LED brake and marker lights so far?  I noticed the site stated that the LED do not produce as much light as a standard incandescent bulb.  But in a group of 24 or 30, how do they compare?  I know that they light up much quicker than a standard incandescent, which may give the idiot who's tailgating you just that extra split second to avoid rear ending you.

Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.

They're not as bright, but they're still bright enough. Either way, you will notice them. Even the large groups of them are still dimmer than a normal bulb.

Anyone happen to know of a site that can provide light covers and such? At some point I wanna change out my ugly ass tail lights and head lights to allow for an LED setup and get a chromed finish. I doubt for some reason they have them for a 98 Monte Carlo though, since not hardly any kids drive the ugly ass old person car. Just wanna know of some options, since the casing right now would make it stupid to put in LEDs.

Why's that?? IMHO LED's arn't for looks, but to signifigantly reduce current draw.
Hey, my girlfriend drives a '97 Monte Carlo.

I like the quick response (fast on and off ) of the LEDs, I know the new Cadillacs with the LED arrays get my attention more than any bulbs.

Do not even try replacing your headlights with led's- they're simply not bright enough.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
