I just had the 2.2X installed, but the dealer didn't give me the install guide?  Is that normal that customers don't get those?  I've have installed stereos and alarms, and I'd like it just for reference (wiring schematic and programming info).  I found the 2.5X guide here, so is the wiring and programming info the same?

TIA

Not a problem... I bought a Clifford RSX 3.5, and was pissed when it didn't come with a install manual, but I guess since only certified dealers are allowed to install them, they already have the manual.

i never give customers the install guide.... these are for use by the authorized dealers/installers only... i give them the owners manual only, this also deters them from trying to change settings and mess things up after the install is complete.....

I do agree for the most part, but if the customer requests it then I would give it to them.

I can kind of understand from an installer point of view, but think of it this way also.  I have the Service Manuals for all my cars that cost thousands of dollars.  I like having them for reference.  But just because I have the service manuals doesn't mean I want to take out my transmission (or any other component)  and start disectting it.

I guess you have to judge each customer and see whether they are competent enough to know whether they should mess with their alarms or not if they have the installation manual.  Anyways, if anyone really wants to find them, they'll get it.

Personally, that is total BS. If a customer has a shop install an alarm, and they want the installation manual, it is not up to the shop to judge weather or not they are smart enough to mess with it or not. true if they do mess with it and it malfunctions, then the shop just doesn't warrantee an install that has been modified or otherwise tampered with. But to say that it is up to the shop to decide what the customer can and can't do with equipment that they own out right is total bull S**T

but thats just my 2 cents.
