i just got one of these,so far,im not too happy with the unit.its very hard to navigate around dvds to get to the scenes and things, the graphics really blow also.when your playing the radio you only have 2 chioces to waht the screen does, and both choices arnt worth anything.if theres a way to upgrade this thing, please let meknow.id like to make it look better when its on the other sources.

also,it didnt come with a remote?is that normal?

The unit does not come with a remote, but Pioneer does offer a remote for it for around $29.99. As for the lack of features, my questions is this: What do you expect from Pioneer for $1,100.00? To me it sounds like you need the AVH-P7600DVD that retails for $1,999.00. It will offer the features you are looking for, but at a few dollars more. Where did you purchase the 5700DVD from? Mabe if you bought it from an Authorized Retailer they will let you exchange it toward something more to your liking. Hopefully you didn't buy it off the internet, because that would be the case of buyer beware and would put an emphasis on how important retailers can be.

AVH-P5700DVD do not ship with a remote.

Pioneer basically built this to hit the $1K map price point. There is a remote available for this unit -model# CD-R5, about $25. I also am not too thrilled about this unit, the 6600DVD was MUCH better, but more money.

Experience gained is directly proportional to the amount of equipment destroyed - break it & learn!

This is a quality entry level unit. Notice I said entry level. This is the bottom of the barrel for pioneer but is still a far better alterantive to the audiovox's boss and jensens of the world. I find the sound quality to be better than the other brand names at this point, as for the navigating the discs I guess that is all in the eyes of the beholder cause I find it pretty easy to use. I do agree that the graphics are very boring but that wasnt the point of this unit, the point was to give their customers on a restricted budget an option to get video in their vehicle. As 12v_rep said, I hope you bought from an authorized dealer because they will probally let you upgrade to a higher end unit that might have the bells and whistles you are looking for.
