I kept on tapping in between the solenoid and the switch. the trunk popper works properly with the switch. i haven't had any problems before. i just can't get it to work with the remote when i connect it to the alarm.

i tried wiring the relay both ways listed above.

85-ground 86-alarm 87-trunk 30-12v

85-alarm 86-ground 87-12v 30-trunk

the relay should work both them ways although i'd go with the top one

30 as +12V

87 to the trunk

only thing to do now is to test the output. test it with a Multimeter for + and for - you never know it could be minus or as bobk said you might need to program the output

i have it connected at the moment as

30-12v 85-ground 86- alarm 87-solenoid

there is a constant +12v on 30.

i had not wired the trunk output wire before hand. how do i check to see if the output from the alarm is + or -?

i couldn't get any voltage out of that thing. even when i pressed the button on the alarm. is there a chance the output might be -?

there's no reading coming out of the trunk output.

what do you mean by reverse the leads?

ok thanks...i'm not a man though..female here. i'll give that a try. i just didn't understand what you were talking about.

well...i still can't figure this thing out. i tried a few other ways that i read up in other forums and still nothing. i don't understand why the little light on my remote will not at least turn on. oh well...back to square one.

the led lights on when i arm/disarm the car, but nothing turns on when i press the trunk button.

thanks for the help....for whatever reason the thing works now. i just wired up as followed and everything works fine.

30-solenoid 85-ground 86-alarm 87-fused 12v

i have no idea why this damn thing was acting up on me. oh well, i'm glad i got this thing out of the way.
