the truck is a Ford F-350

the remote starter is a Pro start (Auto start unit)

it only has a + input for the glow plug

and I don't have the CD stacker to us the input wire from that either

Well, according to my info that truck does not have a way to get the glow plug wires because it uses a data bus signal to the cluster.

However, I have been able to find a glow plug wire at the back of the instrument cluster.  It is a BLACK/ pink wire.  Test this with a DMM, it should be ground when the glow plug light is on and +12 after that.

If this is the case, you are in luck.  Because your pro start only has a + input you need to use a relay as follows:
85 to BLACK/ pink wire of glow plug
86 to ignition (+12v when ignition is on)
87 to ignition (+12v when ignition is on)
30 to remote start glow plug input

You might have to hook 87a to ground.  Try it without first.

If the BLACK/ pink wire does not exist or does not test right you will have to use a timed start.  I don't think pro start has that option.

This is what I have on a 2002!  not a 2003!

just for ref:

GLOW PLUG WIRE:

For Diesel Vehicles,

PURPLE / ORANGE OR WHITE/ LT. GREEN IN 42-PIN CONN. UNDER AIR FILTER BOX

The Tach Wire Is Green And Can Be Found In A 42-Pin Connector Found Underneath The Air Filter Box. Remove The Air Filter Box To Access Wires.

like I said this is for a 2002! may not apply! If this is not still good info please correct me!

thanks,

Mark

Hi from Keith,

this is for Mark the last posting, and of others

the 2003 superduty trucks have changed many of the wire color codes and there is no wiring harness under the air box .

The tach wire not Green the tach wire is White with green stripe. ( this info came stright from a Ford dealer,) but even they didn't even no what wire or wire are for the glow plug.

the 12 volt wire at the ignition harness is Yellow X 2 of them no stripe

I still hoping what Player69 stated above will work but I haven't had time to check it out yet I will kepp you posted,
