2002 cavalier aftermarket radio

can anyone help me out withe a wire diagram for the stock radio harness. I cant find a switched power lead.

you have to run your own on that car...you can go to the ignition wires but the fuse box is the easiest place to go...metra's 70-2003 harnes even comes with a wire that is the right length to run to the fuse box...windshild wiper fuse is the one I usally go for...but any of them with 12V at ignition only will do...

whatever you do dont cut the stock harness.

the fuse panel is a band-aid way to run it......this is not something u should practice.....use a DMM to check for a 10 guage pink wire in the drivers kick or at the ingintion harness.....remember to always fuse wire.
Where theres is a wire there's a way.

Use a Class 2 databus harness adapter - that what you're dealing with... A GMCHIME from Soundgate, or a DCGM09 from Scosche for example. You'll get a switched 12v power lead, get the chimes for all the idiot lights(seatbelts, low oil pressure, key left in ign...etc.) & keeping the RAP(retained audio power - keeps radio going for up to 10 minutes after key-off, if you don't open the door.).
Experience gained is directly proportional to the amount of equipment destroyed - break it & learn!
