Yes, walk in to the place where you want to work. Give them a week of your free labour. BE ONE TIME AND BE PREPARE TO WORK FROM OPEN TILL CLOSE. NO 9-5 THING OR 8 HOURS SHIFT.    The only condition you have is that they feed you twice a day and give you some gas money to get home. And at the end of the week they MUST make a decesion wheather they will hire you on or not.
If they don't feed you or give you some gas money. Move on! You will not get anything out of it. It's a two way street. YOU ARE DESPRATE, BUT NOT FREE! That the type of shop you do not want to work for.
Let me know if that is a pretty good resume?

It's NOT a resume....Its a very good tactic to get a job though.....

If I was hiring an individual.....WoW what an impression.

your best resume is your own car or pictures of cars youve done work on. I might have worked for best buy but they knew i knew alot since i showed them my truck and how much work is done to it.. almost all of it done by me except the body work.   Rolling business cards are the greatest way to get hiRED / gain work.. I suggest any person who opens a shop get one.. no greator exposure than that...

auex,
As soon as I get fired. Sanding, that I can do. Bodywork, that I can do. Yard work, if you mean cutting grass. Maybe. I might not be very useful in this deparment. The only grass cutting I am use to are the one you light up. That I can do. Installer resume -- posted image.

If you just recently graduated and are looking for an install position, you might consider an install school.  There are many out there to choose from, but the one I recommend is the Snake Pit.  It is a school run by DEI that covers basic electronics, audio theory, fabrication, video, etc.  I attended last month and walked out with MECP certification and much more nowledge than I started with.
