93 toyota pick up, stereo, lights

i have a 93 toyota pick up that started having problems after i hooked up a sound system. **the parking lights in the front turn on as i step on the brake pedel. there's nothing wrong with the brake lights though. and also, when i release the emergency brake, the light for that is still ON in the dash(where the spedometer is) can anyone help me?!

Did you use the factory radio harness or go elswhere for power and ground?

i didnt use the factory harness for installation. i went elsewhere

You have tapped into powere leads that were not meant to deliver constant or ignition switched power on a consistant basis. ie. power changing to ground when you step on the brakes. Always use the factory radio harness, it is noise free and is fused correctly for a stereo system load.

i did the installation without any installation accessories. meaning i cut all wires to the factory harness, then connected the correct wires to the ones of the new player. the power is pulling from the same wire, the ground is connected to a good source. for the amp, the power is from the battery ofcourse, and the ground is connected to a bolt that connects to the chasis.

Randy, go to the factory radio harness, constant 12 volt power is blue / YELLOW stripe, switched 12 volt is gray and ground is brown. disconnect all otherpower and ground taps.
