you can probabaly take the MECP test their somewhere, the 1st step is try and get your basic certification. you will need to find the study guide and study alot about ohms law and stuff.  The best way here in the states to do this is to get a job at a stereo shop and let them pay for the test.

i have just became qualified as a car technician so i do quite alot of car electrics now but in my own time i fit alot of alarms and visual and audio systems in cars but alot of people want the thatcham alarm systems and not being qualified to fit them means i cant sign the form with the alarm for the insurance so basically i just want to become certified so i can do it.

when you do your tests over in the states is it practical or is it just theory work that you have to do
