i have read some of the other questions and answers on this subject, and i need a little more help on some of the factory muting options.  i am installing a motorola car kit for a V551in a 2005 mercury mountaineer and one for a V60 in a 2002 ford f250 superduty.  neither factory radio is equiped with a mute button.  I have also read on the car audio forum that you can access pin 20 on the factory molex and this will work in muting the radio for an incoming or outgoing call.  My question is does anyone have experience doing this and what were the outcomes?
thanks for your help

I am not sure on the 05 mountaineer.....but on the 02 f250....you can actually get a wiring harness that will allow you to mute the radio and run the audio throught the front speakers and in some instances turn the volume up and down via the radio nob.

What does this Kit look like and where else can I purchase it from. I also have a Motorola V551 and would like to have the cell mute feature. I have a Pioneer 7700.

The kit I am getting is for a stock stereo. Pioneer has a mute wire built into most of their HU's. Just connect it to the mute line from your hands free kit and you will be good to go.
